This 6-week class is an introduction to Ballet, Modern and Jazz for students ages 5-12. Prepare to have FUN while learning the fundamentals of these dance genres. No prior experience required.

Class will meet from 5-5:45 on:

  • Wednesday, April 13th
  • Wednesday, April 20th
  • Wednesday, April 27th
  • Wednesday, May 4th
  • Wednesday, May 11th, and
  • Wednesday, May 18th.

Hair should preferably be secured off of the face. No chewing gum or jewelry, please.

Attire: Students should wear something comfortable and form fitting like black leggings or biker shorts and a tank top or t-shirt tucked in. Students may also choose to wear a black leotard with pink or black tights - not required.

Students may wear socks. If they have ballet shoes or jazz shoes they may bring those along to wear for class if they wish.

**Minimum of 5 students required. Registration is for the full series and students will be accepted until April 18th.

Amy Kaye (A.K.) Mullen-Johnson

Amy Kaye (A.K.) Mullen-Johnson is a teaching artist, dance teacher, and an Instructional Assistant at York Academy Regional Charter School. She earned an MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado, and a BA in Dance from Slippery Rock University. Mullen-Johnson has worked as an adjunct professor in the Division of Theater Department, at York College, in addition to choreographing musicals for their main stage. Supporting arts in education, she works for the Pennsylvania Council Arts education, stARTSomething program in the Cultural Alliance of York, creating dance residencies that are custom-designed and integrated into the classroom curriculum. She previously worked with The Fulton Theater's education and outreach programs to promote critical literacy through the arts. She also teaches theater camps at DreamWrights Community Theater. She started her love of dance training with Shana Garling, Lori Garling, Mindy Fritz, and Cherie Noble. She loves teaching and sharing her love of dance at Greater York Dance and bringing her enthusiasm to Keystone Kidspace.
